St. Peters Police Explorers Post
Young, aspiring law enforcement officers have a golden opportunity. You are welcome to take part in the St. Peters Police Department’s Explorers Post — and take a big step toward your future career.
The Police Explorers Post is open to anyone ages 15 to 20, or 14 years of age if you’ve already graduated from eighth grade.
Explorers come to regular meetings and work on community projects, and police officers often teach classes about police work, with plenty of hands-on training. Explorers can join as a “recruit” at any time and then become a full-fledged member by passing an Explorer Academy structured similarly to the type of police academy that real-world officers must pass.
The Explorers’ community projects include child ID kit sessions where Explorers work with parents to create an ID card with children’s fingerprints, just in case it’s ever needed. Explorers also dress up as McGruff for crime prevention outings and take part in other community outreach events for police.
