City Buildings Retrofitted for Energy Efficiency
The City of St. Peters has been able to take advantage of stimulus funding to save taxpayers money on utility bills by retrofitting City buildings to be more energy efficient.
“Energize Missouri Communities” Grant
The City of St. Peters was awarded a $91,500 grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act’s "Energize Missouri Communities" program.
The grant will cover 56 percent of the estimated $163,830 cost for energy efficiency upgrades at the St. Peters water treatment plant. The installation of more energy-efficient motors and a completely new water transfer pump will save enough energy to pay for the improvement in seven years.
