Cindy DuBois 2017

Cindy DuBois will lead the "Genealogy Basics" class Nov. 19 at the Cultural Arts Centre.

Have you ever wondered about the lives of your ancestors? Do you need motivation to begin researching them?

If so, check out the next “Time for Tea!” program, scheduled for 1-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019, at the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre.

Discovering the many branches of your family tree can be a fun and rewarding experience. In this “Genealogy Basics” presentation, Cindy DuBois will share important tips on how to begin your search and how to organize your findings.

What began as a simple interest has become a lifelong passion for DuBois, who has been researching her family history for the last 42 years.

DuBois will introduce you to census films, birth and death records, DNA research and more. She will provide you with Internet research options as well as other physical places to go to acquire important information.

You will learn about places to connect with family members and discover the important role photography plays in documenting your ancestral history.

The event is $10 per person. Cultural Arts Centre members will receive a $1 discount. Dessert, tea and coffee will be available.

Register in person at the Cultural Arts Centre or call 636-397-6903, ext. 1624. The Cultural Arts Centre is located in the west wing of City Hall, One St. Peters Centre Blvd.
